Main Street Birmingham, Inc. Jumpstarts Woodlawn Redevelopment at Historic One 55th Place
BIRMINGHAM, AL AUGUST 6, 2007- Main Street Birmingham, Inc. will dedicate the renovated One 55th Place building during an open house on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 4:30-7:00 pm.
The historic Woodlawn building now houses the offices of Main Street Birmingham, Inc., Metro Appraisals and Ruben Studdard’s RCS Music Group.
The renovation of One 55th Place was completed as a catalyst development and is an outgrowth of Main Street Birmingham’s mission to revitalize commercial districts within the city’s neighborhoods.
Project supported by the City of Birmingham, Jefferson County, The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, Regions Bank, The Hugh Kaul Foundation, Alabama Power Foundation and First Commercial Bank.
Representatives from these organizations will be recognized at 5:45pm. Ruben Studdard is also scheduled to make an appearance at the open house.
Main Street Birmingham, Inc. is a nonprofit under contract with the City of Birmingham to implement the BEACON program for neighborhood commercial district revitalization. The program targets nine urban commercial districts to strengthen economic development by utilizing the National Trust Main Street Center’s Four Point Approach ™ of design, organization, economic restructuring and promotion.
