The Nixon Cultural Center at Tuxedo Junction

About
The Nixon Cultural Center at Tuxedo Junction will be an economic anchor and tourist attraction at the gateway to Ensley, across from the new Hope VI development.
The building will house a small cafe, a multi-use performance space for events and community meetings, an exhibit room, an archive, a listening area and a classroom for youth programs. The John W. Nixon Cultural Arts Foundation will maintain the public programs and exhibits dedicated to honoring the artistic, historic, intellectual and professional persons from Ensley.

Main Street Birmingham is currently finalizing the feasibility and sustainability plan for the project. The next step is the design of interpretive exhibits.
How You Can Help
Main Street Birmingham is still raising funds to complete the initial planning. There is still almost $8000 needed to pay for professional services included business plans, architectural and an interpretive plan. Even small amounts get us closer to our goal and move this project closer to reality. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Mary Allison Haynie at 205.595.0562 or by email.
