Empowering Communities

Main Street Birmingham empowers local businesses to work together to improve their business environments.  We facilitated the formation of local merchant and business associations and encourage the use of the Four Point Approach of the National Main Street Center.  The approach fosters Organization, Design, Promotion and Economic Restructuring.

Our Promotional Challenge Grant program helps merchants groups fund promotional and marketing efforts for their districts.  Blooms for BEACON provides free flowers and landscaping to districts in the spring and fall, which local volunteers plan and maintain.
